Welcome from the Headteacher

Danesfield Church of England School was built in 1959 as Williton County Secondary Modern.   The original school was built to serve the local towns of Williton, Watchet and Washford.  These communities remain at the heart of the school, but increasingly Danesfield serves a much wider areas, with pupils joining us from as far away as Porlock, Minehead, Holford and Exmoor.

 As a Christian family school we are committed to fulfilling the potential of every single pupil.  As a truly comprehensive school we welcome pupils of all abilities and from all backgrounds.  We pride ourselves on high academic standards, excellent pupil behaviour and excellent sport, music, dance and drama.  We offer a huge variety of clubs and activities every lunchtime and every evening after school.

 It is my decision that all senior staff including myself should teach.  This allows all of us to really get to know our pupils well and to help ensure that the children receive only the very best teaching from an outstanding staff.  I feel proud and privileged to lead such a good school.
